Details:
Burlesque artist and show producer, Kitty Cointreau, and the team at the Lass O’ Gowrie, 36 Charles Street, Manchester, are on the hunt for fantastic variety talent for the Cirque Du Lass Competition 2011! Held at the Lass O Gowrie, 8-10 acts per heat will have up to 7 minutes each to compete for a place in the grand final to win fantastic prizes and the crown of Cirque Du Lass Champion 2011.
Entrants from a variety of disciplines welcome, be it magic, dance, music or mash-up, cabaret, circus or stand-up. So, if you’re a juggler, hula hooper, street performer, fire act, contortionist, singer, ukulele player, comedian, magician, mime artiste or clown, please do apply! We will offer a warm, supportive, fun environment in which to perform and are looking to find the very best talent.
There’ll be guest stars, a guest MC and judges per heat, building to a fantastic grand finale full of gals, gags and glittery giggles. Cirque Du Lass is part of both the Not Part of Festival and Lassfest 2011. Special guests set to perform across the heats and the final include one-man musical comedy whirlwind Duncan Oakley (from BBC Radio 4’s ‘Shappi Talk,’ ‘Very, very funny' BBC), accomplished circus act and legendary stand-up Martin Bigpig Mor (‘irrepressible exuberance’ Scotsman), the ‘bolshy but delightful’ Jonathan Mayor, Pavabotti the Naked Tenor (as seen on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and ‘Naked Britain’) and Kitty Cointreau (‘the puuuurfect burlesque beauty' Leicester Mercury, ‘a singularly dazzling performer’ FringeReview.com).
