LeFunk! is a busy and popular 5-piece function band covering classic funk, disco and soul numbers from 60s to present day. We currently average at least 3-4 gigs/month, a mix of public and private events (weddings, birthdays, corporate special events). Almost all gigs the band takes are in the North West, particularly the South Manchester area where the band is based. Performances are generally 2 hours using choices of set list from a base of around 50 songs – a fair bit to learn, but they are very well known and we provide our vocalists with self produced backing tracks as learning aids to speed the process up. Regular, paid work is a given, from pub to corporate rates. Please see our website www.lefunk.co.uk for video and music samples.

REQUIREMENTS
As well as excellent vocal ability, you must have outstanding stage charisma and audience rapport. Your own transport is a must. We have comprehensive stage gear including spare mics, but great if you have your own.
A regular rehearsal commitment (two or three times per month on a weekday evening) is required to keep our performances at a high standard as well as adding new material (rehearsal space is free).
Before we agree to audition, we MUST have examples of your work – this can be via YouTube links or demo/live performances in MP3 format. Age not important to us but, for your reference, our ages range from 25-50.

Please note that there will be a transitional period during which our existing vocalist will be with us, as you get familiar with our material and so that we can fulfill our existing bookings, but we would be looking for you to take over completely by early 2014. Note we have a deputy vocalist, should you also have existing (solo) bookings to fulfill, and of course to stand in for illness or unavailability. Both our outgoing lead vocalist (regrettably leaving us due to family commitments) and deputy vocalist will be able to help you during the transition.
