Comedic male presenter needed for a student-run geography-themed studio game show
Job ID: 6067
Job Specifics:
Details:
\'Passport Control\' is a lighthearted cheeky Television game show that tests your knowledge about geography and the world?. It tests the contestants’ knowledge of various countries and cultures through a series of comical rounds.
The show is carried by a male presenter portrayed as the pilot of the show, accompanied by a female assistant posing as a female air hostess.
The programme is comparable to studio shows like ‘Celebrity Juice’ and ‘Fake Reaction’ where the focus of the show isn’t so much on winning the prize but having fun and joking around in each of the rounds.
The contestants are made up of two teams ‘Team Latitude’ and ‘Team Longitude’ with two participants in each team. There are five rounds that test their knowledge of different aspects of the various nations of the world. Points gained are considered as ‘air miles’. The more air miles gained the further away their holiday prize will be at the end of the show.
This is a student project at the University of Gloucestershire, with an enthusiastic group of second year Television Production students.
However, as we are students, we are unfortunately unable to pay you for your time, but we are able to give you the footage for your showreel in return.
In terms of the presenter we are looking for a confident, flirty and witty male who is able to use his charm to carry the show. With regards to the content of the show and the theme of an airport we are looking to dress the role in a pilot outfit. The role of presenter in this programme is comparable to Paddy McGuinness in ‘Take Me Out’, Vernon Kay in ‘All Star Family Fortunes’ and Keith Lemon in ‘Celebrity Juice’. Although a lot of the programme will be scripted it will be useful to have someone who can think of their feet and use charm to diffuse any awkward situations.
Furthermore due to the “cheeky” tone of the show the presenter will need to be comfortable with occasional flirting with contestants and fellow talent. An interest/knowledge in the topic area would be preferred but is not essential.
For those successful, an audition will be arranged, simply so we can meet you and see if you are suited to the role.
As our presenter you will be required to turn up to rehearsals, which will rotate between Thursdays and Fridays starting from Friday 8th March. Transmission date will be 9th/10th May.
As previously mentioned, this is a student project so therefore, we are unfortunately unable to pay you for your time, but we are able to give you the footage for your showreel in return.
