In a dystopian alternative world in which academic intelligence is valued above all else, what lies in store for those deemed unworthy of society who do not pass their exams? A society that strips individualism and creativity away from young minds and encourages them to listen, learn, repeat until they are ready to join the rest of a society built on the false illusion of intelligence.

Dom: Male, Aged 18-19

An introverted, socially awkward teenager with a keen interest in computer coding and little else. Unlike brother James, Dom lacks academic intelligence but proves more than able when it comes to technology. Having been living in the shadow of his academically and socially more capable brother however, Dom struggles with the threat of losing his identity and life within a society that values the percentage on an exam paper over all else.

James: Male, Aged 18-19

In contrast to Dom, James is outlandish and enjoys every opportunity to speak. Entirely confident with his own academic ability to shine, his is selfish in his regard for others who are not as able. Although not heartless, James is consumed by his own seemingly desirable future within a society where his abilities will be heralded.

Teacher: Female, Aged 25 – 40

Though unnamed and a minor role, the female teacher within this story is the personification of the society in which this story is set. Cool, collective and intense yet lacking in creativity and imagination.


Shooting between 30th March - 2nd April, expenses are covered. Auditions to be held in London on the 18th March (location and time given to those applicants that are shortlisted).
