For my final masters project I am developing a Shakespeare app, aimed at 4-6 year old children. I have been working closely with development producers at CBeebies who seem interested by the idea and have given a lot of support and feedback. The app includes a simplified version of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream', as well as several games, including an act-a-long function where the child can meet a character and record themselves performing a famous line.

As this is a student project, I will be unable to pay you. However, if you are looking for experience then this is a good opportunity!

Audio recording will take place on Saturday 6th December at the University of Salford, Media City UK. (Time TBC)

The app includes 7 male roles and 5 female roles, however some of these parts are very small (1-2 lines), so I would hope to give 3-4 roles to each actor, providing that they can do voices that sound distinct from each other.

The roles include: William Shakespeare (who will voice all app navigation)

Oberon, Bottom, Orsino, Romeo, Juliet, Hamlet, the three witches, King Lear (part of the act-a-long function and therefore only have 1 line each).

'A Midsummer Night's Dream' narrator: female, RP. Soft, airy voice that would appeal to young children.

I'm looking for voice actors who are willing to work for free and are able to speak in different accents, as well as have the ability to sound both fairly young (16-18) and middle aged/old as the roles are quite diverse.

As the app is aimed at young children, the voices need to be exaggerated, over the top and fun so that they will be engaged and want to join in!
