Job Specifics:
Details:
This is a multi-camera production filmed in-studio on the 1st of November 2018 in North London, and the latest project from students on the award-winning Film & TV course at the University of Hertfordshire.
The script is adapted from the television drama series \\\"Casualty\\\". Three weeks into the apocalypse, two parents are left in turmoil as they are faced with an impossible choice. Their son, Paul, has been infected, and the deadly virus is only held at bay by the machines keeping him alive. Turning off his life support means that the infection will take over... and the only viable solution is to destroy his brain, permanently.
Jenny. Female. Early 40s. Jenny is a mother struggling with her son’s terminal accident and her husband Donald’s aggressive reaction to the news. She loves her husband, but often falls into his shadow and finds it difficult to argue back. However, when given critical news of her son’s condition, she takes her stand against Donald in order to persuade him to do the right thing.
Donald. Male. Early 40s. Donald is a working man with strongly held values when it comes to protecting his family. Even when it puts others in danger, he will maintain his protective aggression against anyone and anything he feels might threaten his wife or son. Donald is in shock, and unable to fully process what is happening through his grief. He is clinging to the only thing he is sure of in this moment: his family.
Doctor. Any gender. 20s/30s. The doctor is a rookie, newly qualified and doing their best to be professional. As a result, they come across as a little standoffish and blunt. They are harried and stressed, facing night after night of cases just like these, and are nearly reaching their breaking point. Nevertheless, they are doing their best to keep the professional veneer from cracking.
Shooting takes place on the 1st of November in the Hatfield area. Expenses will be covered, plus a copy of the film to be used at owner’s discretion.
Auditions to be held on Tuesday, 9th of October in Clapham, next to the Clapham North tube station. For more information, please send CV and photo (and, if possible, showreel) to francescamylodford@gmail.com. You can also contact us on 07722958558.
