Wanted: 3 actors/actresses (1 x Male, 2 x Females) an old-school, romance-drama short film. Shooting in Hatfield in Late November-December 2020. This is one of the latest projects from students on the award-winning Film & TV course at the University of Hertfordshire.
Nancy. Female, late-teen. An introverted, clumsy, awkward and generally shy, middle-class girl is mainly interested in studying and reading books. Though she is hesitant about attending the last dance of the year, she is persuaded by her friend to go. Her ex ‘William’ is also at the dance who finds himself bumping into Nancy.
Susan. Female, late-teen. A confident, outgoing, pretty and sociable middle-class girl who enjoys dancing, persuades her friend Nancy to go to the dance. Almost forcibly trying to dress Nancy up in lipstick and clothes she wouldn’t usually wear. During the dance, Susan is seen talking to Nancy’s ex William.
William. Male, late-teen. A kind gentleman and rugby player, William finds himself in an awkward situation when his ex’s friend, Susan approaches him for a conversation. Eventually the conversation ends, and he bumps into Nancy. After asking her for a dance does it end happily or in a disaster?
Shooting takes place on the University of Hertfordshire campus in the Hatfield area from 30th November – 5th December. Travel and food expenses paid for, plus a copy of the film. Film to be entered for competitive festival screenings.
