Details:

Collage Arts are looking for Actors to perform in a short film on mental health commissioned by
Haringey Council targeted at 11-16 year olds. The 4-6 minute short film will be shot on location in
the London Boroughs of Haringey and Islington. This is a non-union production, and whilst there will
be a small fee paid to main cast, cost of expenses (travel and food only) will also be included. Film
experience performing in front of a camera is required for main characters and some support, but
not necessary for the smaller, non-speaking parts. Please email:

Character’s Name:​ Kwame
Character’s Gender:​ Male
Character’s Age:​ 18
Character’s Ethnicity:​ Black or Black British
Character’s Wardrobe:​ Street look with Grime influences
Character Profile:​ Kwame is Germaine’s closest friend from childhood and lives on the same estate
or street. They are both part of the same Fam who all live nearby and attend the same school.
Kwame is smart, sensitive and very observant, and is very good at joining in banter within the group,
but he can see Germaine is in trouble. Kwame is sympathetic and sensitive to Germaine’s plight and
directs the other member’s aggression away from him. In the end he offers an alternative solution to
an otherwise dark outcome for Germaine.
