A woman returning home late from the office faces two manifestations of fear, being forced to choose which to confront. Geographies of Fear explores the differentiation in perception between intangible fears of the mind and tangible fears derived from the surrounding environment. The roles of mundanity, familiarity and distraction in blinding us to potential dangers, even in familiar environments, is explored , noting how easily we can find ourselves in danger and discomfort. The narrative follows the progress of the woman as she departs a train station at night and follows the street towards the path that leads to her home.
One male and one female are required for lead roles; both must display strong non-verbal acting ability, with a particular focus on the emotions of fear. Both actors must be able to move with full range of motion, with both being required to walk ≈100m across the filming location multiple times throughout shooting.
Transport to and from the filming location will not be provided, nor funded by SN Films and Media, even in the event of an emergency, thus all actors participating will need to ensure their own safe transport to and from the shooting location. Additionally, no accommodation will be provided to the actors involved in Geographies of Fear, even in the event of an emergency.
