NEWLAND AUDITIONS

Newland is an exciting new musical, written by Thomas Giron-Towers & Grant Martin, featuring an original score with roots in Jazz, Broadway and Contemporary Musical Theatre. Drama and comedy abound in a story from an era both vibrant and deadly.
Having achieved recent success at the Camden Fringe, and reaching number 3 in their must see list we are proud to offer you the chance to be a part of this show with three opportunities arising next year.

Bridewell February Performances 21st February – 9th March
Newland will be coming to The Bridewell Theatre in Fleet Street next February 21st. This will be a 3 week run of a showcase performance, Tue-Fri starting at 1pm and lasting an hour.
All cast members will be expected to flyer early morning on certain performance days. Each cast member will receive 8% profit share from the show, which hopefully will cover travel expenses.

Giant Olive Theatre Company (Lion & Unicorn Theatre) 16th April- 21st eve performances
The first abridged version of the musical will be performed at the Lion & Unicorn Theatre in Kentish Town. The show will be performed all week at this great venue and it will be the first time an audience will hear the music with a live band as well as witness the shows story. The reviews gained from these performances will be used as promotion for Edinburgh.
Edinburgh 2012!

Newland will also be heading to Edinburgh Fringe festival in 2012. We will need a cast of 10 performers, 4 women and 6 men. Accommodation, travel and living essentials will be provided. A fee of £300 will be required as a contribution to partially cover costs.

Auditions
We will be holding auditions for all runs. Please indicate upon application, which run/runs, all if you’d like, to be considered for. Being unable to perform in Edinburgh does not discount you from the auditions or performing at the other shows.
At the auditions we shall be looking for.

• All applicants over the age of 18.

• Actors and Actresses with a playing age between 21 and 35.

• All performers must be strong singers and able to act. Dancing is less required although some movement will be involved.

• Please bring one contemporary ballad and one up-tempo song.

• A short script will be sent to you upon confirmation of your audition We’re not expecting this to be learnt.

Auditions will be held on Sunday 30th October at Middlesex University at Trent Park, right outside Oakwood station. From the station you can travel on a free university bus to where auditions are being held at the Mansion.
