Budding writer Jordan Charles' first stage musical 'FREEDOM' is a hard-hitting piece exploring the African-American struggle for justice and equality in the 1960s. Loosely based on the true story of the 1961 Freedom Riders, it shows the poisonous racism of US Society at the time, the violence of the KKK and the bravery of a group of college students who refuse to accept their fate.

Number 7 Media is bringing this musical to the stage with an amateur cast and we want YOU to be involved. Apply within to be a part of this moving, powerful musical!

In this second round of auditions, we're looking for actors to fill these singing roles:

Bobby Zeigler
- Young, white man
- Sporty and Confident
Bobby is a football playing hothead. He is fiercely loyal to his friend, Braxton (a black boy who gets picked on), and gets into several fights with young racists in his classes and sports clubs. When he joins the CoRP (Congress for Racial Progression) to make a change his temper gets him beaten badly and he is hospitalised.

Susan Norton
- Young, black woman
Susan is the love interest of the main character, Lewis Allen (already cast), but also much more than that she is the spokesperson of CoRP (Congress on Racial Progress) and it's most vocal member. She begins the play as an uptight, official woman who works too hard and thinks everything is her responsibility. Through her relationship with Lewis and her friendship with Bobby, she learns to (as Bobby says) 'live young'.

James Farmer
- Young-Middle Aged black man
Farmer is the leader of CoRP the organisation who co-ordinates the protest that forms the centre of the plot. He is in command and in constant control and is great friends with Lewis Allen the male lead. He has a small singing part, but the bulk of his part is spoken.

Eugene Kranford
- Middle Aged-Old White Man
The leader of the unoficially named 'KKK Three'. Mr Kranford is a succesful business man who extends his ruthless business persona to run his branch of the Klan. In a societal setting he is composed and relaxed, but he has an explosive temper and a sadistic hatred for blacks and sympathisers, he enjoys seeing them hurt.
