I am producing a short five minute promo for an international sports league and looking for actors/actresses with regards to a number of roles to begin filming immediately, pending availability. Previous work of mine has been published by MTV UK, BBC, Current TV and I have been recognised by a number of filmmaking institutions such as the Royal Television Society.

The company in question is an international sports league broadcast on terrestrial television in the UK on Channel 4 and in millions of homes across the world on channels such as ESPN, FOX, FX and Viasat. The film will look to celebrate the leagues greatest moments and the crowning achievements of their athletes whilst dramatising with the use of actors the journey of two of the leagues most prominent faces in the sport. This will feature at events across the world for fans in attendance before the event broadcasts live on TV. It may also be released online in future.

I’m looking for actors and actresses for a number of roles that will make up the narrative based areas of the film. No sporting or previous acting experience is required for any of the roles, however all levels of experience will be considered. I’m looking to begin filming immediately as I am on a very tight deadline, so preference will be given to those who are most flexible. Production will take place in several locations in and around London over the course of a few days. Full expenses will be covered for transport, as well as a copy of the film and the independent scenes you are featured in. Free all access entry to a future event will also be given. Further information on the project will be provided to those considered for the roles.

Below are some of the character/story outlines.

Nicolas, Male, 16-22, White Caucasian
One of two lead roles. Nicolas ups sticks from the quiet perfect life of his rural home to the big city with his girlfriend in the next chapter of their young lives. An obsessive character, Nicolas’ life sways between passions never quite finding his calling or giving his all to anything, until he comes across a sport with a dangerous edge that fascinates him.

Nicolas’ Girlfriend, Female 16-22, White Caucasian
Her relationship with Nicolas deteriorates as she begins to realise his mind is elsewhere and ultimately isn’t the object of his affection.

Sports Coach, Male 30-50, White Caucasian
Small part. Nicolas’ pushy coach tries and fails to deter him from his interest in a different sport.

Danny, Male, 16-22, Black Caribbean/Mixed Race
One of two lead roles. Danny and his mother relocate to a new home, leaving behind a troubled family life, but the hardships continue for Danny and his mother as he struggles to move on from the past and fit in amongst the area and a new man enters his mother’s life who reminds them of what they thought they had left behind.

Danny’s Mum, Female, 40-60, White Caucasian
Putting on a brave face and trying to move on from the past, she struggles to raise her self destructive son without a father figure around, but a new love offers hope to filling a gap in her life. A hope that quickly turns into a nightmare that she and her son are all too familiar with.

Danny’s Dad, Male, 40-60, Black Caribbean/African
Small part. Danny’s Dad features in flashbacks of the abuse Danny and his mother have left behind, suddenly becoming a reality again.

Danny’s Mum’s Partner, Male, 40-60, Any Ethnicity
Small part. The new man in Danny’s mums life. Their relationship starts well, but things take a turn for the worst and ultimately his abuse brings Danny and his mum closer together.

Local Area Boys, Male, 16-22, Any Ethnicity
Small part. Local kids who pick on Danny after he moves into the their area. Acts of intimidation lead to a confrontation between Danny and the boys.
