We’re film students from Edinburgh College who, for our Graded Unit Projects, require actors for several roles. This is a joint audition as we are casting for 2 separate short films. However we encourage anyone interested to apply for as many roles as they please, as the shooting days will be scheduled around each other so there is no overlap. More information on filming dates are provided below.


Film 1 – Dragon Thief [Working Title] – Producer: Kayleigh Boyd
3-7 minute medieval fantasy based short film, shot in the style of an opening sequence of a full-length feature film
Characters*: 1 Male, 1 Female
Locations: A forest (Gypsy Brae) & The Royal Mile

Film 2 – Luci – Producer: Tasha Burns
3 minute modern fantasy book trailer
Characters*: 1 Female, 2 Male
Locations: A forest/beach (Gypsy Brae), a lake, Edinburgh College – Sighthill Campus

* Character ages are specified below; however older/younger actors are still welcome to audition

If you are interested in auditioning we ask that you are able to dedicate the required amount of time to the project and are quite flexible with the suggested dates. We will of course aim to give you at least a week’s notice of filming dates and times and will do our best to work around your own commitments as well.
We plan to wrap up both the shoots within two weeks. We are aiming to shoot each production every second day, however should an actor be selected for both projects this is subject to change.
We also welcome your own input in regards to filming and dates to guarantee these projects go as smoothly as possible.

Filming Dates – Week Beginning - 24th March

Benefits
As this is a student funded project we will be unable to guarantee payment, however you will be contracted a deferred payment so should money ever be made off the project you act in you will receive a share. You will also receive;

- Travel expenses around Edinburgh to and from shooting locations [bus tickets etc] will be reimbursed
[within reason, i.e. no taxis]
- A hard copy of the finished film
- Your name in the credits
- And we would also be happy to act as references for future applications [contact details will be provided]
