We are currently looking to shoot a short film at the end of the month which will act as a 'taster' for funding for a bigger film we wish to make by the end of the year.
We are looking for an actor who not only wants a showreel piece but who wants to collaborate and make a film to be proud of. We have a talented actress in the female lead but need our male lead.
M and F are on their first date in a maze, they walk, they talk, they flirt - Cut to - Another time in their relationship, comfort, safe, - back to the maze, new, fresh, awkward - Cut to the the last few weeks of the relationship, arguments, digs - A continuous back and forth. The Maze acts as a backbone for the film that we bounce back to.
We are looking at Blue Valentine, Annie Hall, Eternal Sunshine and Richard Linklater's Before Trilogy as inspirations.
It'll be a one day shoot with the potential of shooting additional scenes later on in the year. We are most likely going to shoot on the Canon CS300, so we will have a real cinematic look to the short.
We will be able to cover travel expenses and catering. The shoot will take place in Balham, South London.
