\'Drawing Near\' is a compelling drama which explores the struggles of a complicated relationship between mother, father and daughter. When \'Lucy\', a troubled 10 year old begins to communicate only through her drawings, we discover hidden secrets that will change the lives of those around her forever. This emotional tale of self discovery will take you on a journey of passion, mystery and intrigue. Our company \'Daniel Alexander Films\' is a multi award winning film production company. We have been producing films for many years, with our latest productions with Pretty Hate Productions & Recre8 being officially selected in LA Film fest in Hollywood, California\'s Cali Film Fest, and a short film we we\'re recently commissioned for which has since received television airplay via BBC news and screened at Cineworld for a selected run.

With this short film we intend to submit it to many of the big film festivals before finally releasing it online for all to see. All actors will receive full copies of the film and free to use it for their showreel material. The project will also go on IMDB. Our past projects have all had a lot of exposure and received well world wide, and we want to ensure everyone involved benefits from this and has great material they can use to help secure future projects.

Payment
Because this project has been birthed primarily out of passion, we want to be honest and realistic to our actors in regards to the minimal finance involved. This is why we would favor actors who were midlands based in order for us to cover all travel expenses comfortably. We will cover all expenses for our cast, and also provide our showreel service for free which includes \'professional headshots and showreel development\'.

We will be shooting over 2 weekends in April/May and auditions will begin early April.

Callum is a husband who is conflicted in his loyalty yet feels like he has to constantly fight for acceptance from his own family. He is a trier, and his love for his daughter is unquestionable, but that may not be enough to restore his perfect family picture as he has to learn how to deal with a new level of emotional burden. Callum is a strong father figure and has a determination that rarely submits.
