Magnum Opus

A dark fantasy drama about female clay sculpture, Galatea, who rebels against her creator, Pygmalion, that keeps her confined in his art studio.

SYNOPSIS
Pygmalion, creates life size clay statues of a women which he brings to life using his blood. The statue, Galatea, wakes up in a world where everything is new and fascinating. As she explores the small space where she’s kept and slowly starts to discover herself, she soon realises that her clay body is frail, and she can break. Which is a big problem when you’re trapped in a closed space with an obsessive man with a growing infatuation for you. Galatea must find a way to escape from her creator or she will eventually face the same destiny as the previous statues and crumble to pieces. Galatea was not the first but will she be the last?

CHARACTER BIOS

GALATEA
Galatea is a clay sculpture that comes to life. Strong and curious with great humanity, she is unaware of her own sexuality, she is innocent almost childlike, and slowly becomes self-aware and starts to understand her surroundings and the intentions of her creator. Galatea feels trapped in the studio where she was created, she desires freedom and independence. Even though Galatea can’t speak, she has a voice.
Non-Speaking Role + Implied Nudity Involved.

PYGMALION
Pygmalion, an unorthodox clay sculptor in a pursuit of bettering his craft. Temperamental and obsessive with a god-complex. Obsessed with the perfection and beauty of his creations, he lost sight of whether or not he should be creating these living thinking creatures that have minds of their own. He’s blind sighted to his actions and their consequences. He’s not a bad guy just a slightly morally blind “Geppetto”.

REHEARSAL PERIOD: 20 February - 4th March (2 Days TBC according to actor\\\'s availability)

SHOOTING DATES: 5th March - 18th March (4 Days Shoot TBC according to actors and location availability)

This project is self-funded, we are willing to pay travel expenses and a small fee for the duration of the shoot. There\\\'s also the possibility of offering accommodation.
