What if you were living in a paralysed body, but with a perfectly functioning mind, and no one around you knew about it?

Joshua contracted a brain infection at the age of 18. He lost control of his body and he could not communicate anymore in any way. He failed every mental awareness test. Doctors had no hope about his recovery. In their opinion, he was going to live in a vegetative state for the rest of his life.

They were wrong, as Joshua was able to hear and understand everything around them, but was unable to control his body in order to communicate.

After many years of suffering for him and his family, a young and devoted nurse realises that Joshua was still there.
