Casting Call for 'Red's Tale'

Shooting Dates: 27th June - 1st July 2016 [Dates may be subject to change]. For the main actor there will also be an additional day for pick-up shots - this will be confirmed in due course.

We are a team of filmmakers based in Northants & the London areas. Comprising of Adam Mickley (Director), Symon Partridge (Producer), Nicholas Clarke (DoP) and many more.

The team has been working intensively on Red's Tale in the planning stage to get it to the quality it deserves. We have all come together because we all believe in the story and the vision. We are now at the stage where we need to bring on some actors to truly bring the film alive.

Film Breakdown

Synopsis: 'In order to get safely through the forest, a charming girl is forced to bond with a strange creature to escape the clutches of an insane criminal.'

In the land of Feldor, the world is changing into a new era. Humans have been living in peace and tranquility. However, rumors of strange things happening in the forests and mountains, where evil creatures once lived.

Red, unlike most humans is full of adventure. We follow her journey into a world she did not know existed, but the dangers of the wilderness soon threaten her safety.

We ask if applicants could have headshots or professional photographs of themselves.
You will need to outline your experience and provide any visual material that you will feel would be relevant. Lastly, if you could tell us a bit about yourself and anything that could be useful.

Filming will mostly take place around Portsmouth. So we are accepting applicants from and around London & Portsmouth as well as surrounding counties.

Suitable actors will be contacted by the Director or Producer and will be invited to an audition.
This information will be confirmed in detail after the casting call end date.
The auditions will take place in London or via self-tapes.

Character Biography

[Red] [FEMALE] [Main Protagonist] - Needed for Six Days (Entire shoot).

Physical Description:
Hair: Long & Dark.
Height: 5ft 6 - 5ft 10.
Build: Slim/Slender
Ethnicity: Caucasian
Age Range: 18 - 27.

Brief Summary of Character

Red is a naturally beautiful and a beloved girl (especially in the village of Ashford). She is known for being very adventurous, kindhearted and for being a strong willed person. She must put all of the human race's differences aside when she is forced to bond with a strange creature to escape the clutches of a madman.

Essential Information for Interested Actors:

The actress needs to have a strong emotional spectrum and must fit the requirements of the character. As well as having a naturally beautiful image to represent the character's image - as she is considered one of the most beautiful girls in the land.

Actor must have long and dark hair (Dark Brown or Black - ideal). If you have a light hair colour and you're willing to dye - this is also acceptable.
Must be able to put on a soft (plain) English accent.

During pre-production there will be research, photoshoots, script readings, rehearsals & costume fittings occurring. So looking for someone who is able to spare the time to help develop their character and work with the director.

Key Production Information:

Film Dates: 27th June - 1st July [5 days - may be subject to change]. Plus a separate day for the montage scenes [Details will be confirmed in due course].
Please be aware due to the locations and the nature of the business, there is a chance the schedule will be extended (hours and filming days). If so, notice will be given well in advance.

Payment: £7.80 p/h
Required for: 47 hours (42.5 for the main filming week + 4.5 on a separate day).

The role is paid. Expenses, accommodation & catering will be included.
As expected - a copy of the DVD, title credits & references will be given.
Please be aware, you will be required to be away for5- 6 days. This may require you to arrive the evening before and leave the morning after.
