Details:

This is an independent cinematic short documentary about North Korean defectors living that will be broadcast by The Guardian and will be entered into film festivals and for industry awards.

The story focuses in particular on the story of one defector, who is torn between wanting to return home to liberate his country and also adjusting to a long-term life in the UK, which his kids who have grown up here see as their home.

The film covers his life growing up in North Korea, to his escape and journey to the UK, to the challenges of the present day and eventually his hopes for the future - through a combination of interview, illustrative actuality, and observational footage.

We are creating some scenes with actors to illustrate his memories.
