Extras, Actors & their Children required for Music Video
Actors / Extras / Character Actors of all ages, genders and ethnicities plus their accompanied child / children (any age, if they\'d like to be a part of the production and appear in the dramatic audience reactions scenes taking place at Bernard Manning\'s Embassy Club) are required to play dramatic, interacting audience members for a music video set in the early 1960\'s for a new Manchester alt rock band. Extras and aspiring actors without any acting experience are welcome to apply. The music promo will be shooting at Bernard Manning’s Embassy Club in Manchester Jan/Feb 2019. Extras are only required for one day of filming starting in the morning.
Please note; during the stand up comedy routine on stage, there will be a few instances of the ‘f’ word, the b**t**d word and the p**s word so parents may want to re-consider bringing children aged between 3 and 11, younger than that and they won’t even notice the language. The scenes for filming will involve some parents with their children and some other adults without children at the social club on a daytime visit for some cabaret entertainment and music singing performances. There will be a 12 Rating edition of the music video released and another bleeped cut suitable for all ages.
There will be both black and white early 1960’s period scenes and also colour action comedy scenes as part of the story of the song. There‘ll be an abundance of action, comedy, costumed impersonations of iconic pop stars like Elvis, The Beatles, David Bowie and Michael Jackson, special effects, and entertaining drama within the story of the video.
Extras actors would need to dress in clothing that would fit in with the early 1960’s. Most people will already have some clothes that are similar to early sixties clothing. Gents might like to have fun dressing in conservative, classic suit or jacket, shirt and tie or sweaters, cardigans, cardigan + shirt + tie, hats etc. Gents must all wear a tie. Maybe bring an empty pipe and pretend to smoke it occasionally And maybe the ladies might like to have their fun dressing up in the style of the early 1960’s with beehive hairstyles and period clothes and makeup.
The first half of the video film will show the audience in black and white and the second half in colour. The style of the video is a kind of comedic Wierd Al Yankovic combined with Back To The Future.
The single ‘Growing Old Gracefully’ (and accompanying video) will be released internationally through all the usual channels ; You Tube, Spotify, Apple Music, CD Baby etc etc. The song is an anthemic power ballad with International hit record potential. The band\'s music is mainstream radio friendly electro alt rock containing elements of unique and original creativity, drama, humour and theatricality.
There should be an opportunity for most, if not all of the extras to appear prominently (with many closeups of faces) in the 10 minute short film that forms part of the song and its video. There will be many moments where dramatic and comedy reactions from the audience will appear, and one scene where many of the audience members rush onto the stage and interact with the music performers. We’ll attempt to feature all the extras in at least one scene or shot within the action and story so most, if not all actors will be able to spot themselves in the finished video.
Every actor and extra will be given a credit with their name appearing on the closing titles of the video production. Although there won’t be a fee for extras due to the small independent budget, every actor and extra will receive a free copy of the band’s EP, a copy of the video and some T-Shirts will also be given out. There will be refreshments throughout the day on set.
When you apply, please send a message stating if you will be available for a full day on a weekday or only on a Saturday or Sunday. The likeliest date of filming will be on a weekday.
