'If Ever...' is a contemporary shadow theatre play using live actors. It's based on a very moving true story about a mother who faces an emotional journey of endurance when her young son is diagnosed with blood cancer. She survives him and finds a purpose in life - enriching the lives of others like him by writing letters.

I'm currently looking for someone to join the company at short notice to play the role of the doctor in the play as well as taking responsibility for a lot of the physical light manipulation for the show. Good voice production and physical agility are essential.

This is a key role and hard to explain if you've never done it before, as it's a world away from conventional theatre lighting. It's really different and people who get into it find it very exciting.

ShadowStage Productions is the only company in the UK to specialise exclusively in contemporary shadow theatre techniques. It's an up-and-coming art form for which demand is growing.

The techniques required are unique to the form and are not taught in drama colleges. Full training is included as part of the package on this production, making it an attractive opportunity for someone

We're looking for someone who is committed, energetic, enthusiastic. We treat people with respect and open-mindedness.

The production is set up as an open book profit share production.

We rehearse in Wimbledon Park evenings and weekends and have a couple of work-in-progress showings at the LOST theatre, near Vauxhall on 3/4 April from 7:30pm.

Rehearsal schedule is as follows:

Tues 20 - 6-9 - Rehearsal
Wed 21 - 6-9 - Rehearsal
Fri 23 - 6-9 - Rehearsal
Sun 25 - 10-6 - Rehearsal

Tues 27 - 6-9 - Rehearsal
Wed 28 - 6-9 - Rehearsal
Fri 30 - 6-9 - Rehearsal
Sat 31 - 10-6 - Rehearsal
Sun 1 - 10-6 - Rehearsal

Tues 3 - am TECH call, pm CAST call - LOST THEATRE - 7:30pm Performance
Wed 4 - pm TECH then CAST call - LOST THEATRE - 7:30 pm Performance

Following this, rehearsals are set for 2 evenings a week and either Saturdays or Sundays by agreement, with a 3-week run set for the Olympic period at the LOST theatre (23 July to 11 August 2012).
