Synopsis
Disappearing Wonderful is 45 minute musical which takes a satirical look at recent arts graduates entering adulthood, and the ‘real world’. It takes them away from a university scenario, and explores their relationship with each other and the outside world as they come under pressure from peers to find jobs, and make decisions that always felt so far away. The show starts at a Ten Year College Reunion, and has flashbacks to the five years since graduation.
Character breakdown
STEVE / Male / 23~27
He is a fragile creative with a dry sense of humour, and a quiet intolerance of those who look down on him for not having a job. If he is not the wittiest person in the room, he is upset by this, but lacks the confidence to really win over an audience despite being very quick-witted.
Tall (Tallest), has fair hair, and is theatre unattractive.

FREDDIE / Male / 23~27
He is shy, and laid back. He does not have the get-up-and-go that STEVE has, but is probably far more naturally artistic - he is a visual artist. He has a quiet confidence that comes through, and attractiveness that STEVE lacks. STEVE, underneath his role as leader of FREDDIE is very envious of him.
Short, with dark hair, and quite childish in mannerisms, and speech prosod

LIZZIE / Female / 23~27
She is very bright, funny, and vivacious. She has an understanding of the two guys that very few other people do, and despite being totally in love with FREDDIE, is almost a motherly figure to them. She adopts a sympathetic tone when they say and do stupid things, or feel insecure. However, she is also quite depressive.
Short, blonde, energetic and zany in a cute way.
JASON / Male / 23~27
The vivacious ring-leader, who obviously has no time for STEVE. He has charisma, and also, a coolness and easiness to humour, that makes him appear funnier, and more likeable. He is also a born leader. He can be cruel, and alienating if people disagree with things he does, or the ways he puts himself across.
Average height, and has brown, stylish hair. He is very attractive, and popular, and always the centre of attention

ANDREW / Male / 23~27
He is the quietly charismatic, smooth-genius type, who effortlessly charms and has so much brain-power.
Tall, well-dressed, and slightly posh. He has slightly flamboyant mannerisms, and over-reacts to things.

IAIN / Male / 23~27
He is a Transport Planning industry. It sounds like the dullest job on earth (and it is), but nevertheless he gets far too much pleasure from describing it. He is quite gregarious and tactless when he has been drinking.
Short, with facial hair, and wears an expensive-looking suit. He has a rough voice

JOSIE (FRANCESCA) / Female / 23~27
Josie is pregnant, and quite animated and opinionated in her conversations with everyone, except STEVE. She reserves a sort of sympathy for him, while simultaneously looking quite scared as she stands talking, and she is also ditzy, not understanding most of his jokes.
Brown hair, back in a lose pony-tail, and is pregnant. She has slightly tacky-looking earrings, and is excitable

MELISSA (SYLVIA) / Female / 23~27
She stands alone, looking inward and possibly unhappy. She makes no effort to communicate with anyone, and it is unclear why, apart from an obvious shyness. She is technically the most successful of all, being a banker, yet she struggles to involve with others.
Blonde, tall, and very pretty, but is also very shy, and hides behind glasses, and dresses down. Perhaps she has even come in her work clothes.
