BRIGHTON/ EAST SUSSEX BASED ACTORS - WANTED FOR SHORT FILM ‘PINKS’
 
We are a group of postgraduate Filmmaking students at the University of Sussex producing a 5-minute dark comedy short.

‘Pinks’ is about a young man facing a cold night on the streets who is overjoyed when a stranger offers him a warm place to sleep. After a good night’s rest, the stranger’s bizarre motive is revealed.

We are looking for actors that are interested in developing characters with the director through a short rehearsal period. Ideally you will be experienced in improvisation, flexible when working with text, able to develop character, and highly committed to the role. We welcome actors with any or no training, background, and experience.
 
Production Dates (Casting, Rehearsals, Shoots etc.)

¥ You must be available for 2-3 days of rehearsal and 2-3 days of shooting in late March to mid April. Ideally, we will be shooting across a weekend. (Exact dates to be negotiated)
¥ For rehearsal and shooting days travel expenses will be covered for Brighton and surrounds. Food and drink will be provided on shooting days. A small fee is possible but currently dependent on other budgetary requirements.
¥ You will be provided a copy of the film for your show reel. It will also be submitted to national film festivals.
¥ Each student will be producing bigger budget short films in the summer that may be of interest.
¥ Casting will take place on Saturday 5th March 2016, from 11:00 – 16:00. Please indicate your preferred slot: 11:00, 11:30, 12:00, 12:30, 13:00, 13:30, 14:00, 14:30, 15:00, 15:30, 16:00. You will be asked to prepare one short text that will be sent to you.

There are three roles available. Below are brief character descriptions.

Ron: Male, 20-50. This character has lived rough on the streets for a while. He is experienced in this way of life but equally bitter from it.

Charles: Male, 20-50. This character has a privileged upbringing and wealthy background. His compassionate and charming manner is deceptive.

Andy: Male, 20-30. Andy has been living on the streets for only a short period of time. He is reserved, easygoing and yet opportunistic. (This role will require you to be physically fit).
