Birmingham-based writer/film maker requires female performers for a series of monologues
Job ID: 17500
Job Specifics:
Details:
Birmingham-based writer/film maker requires female performers for a series of monologue projects. Each film depicts a lone female character on her way to an engagement when her car breaks down. As she tries to work out why the car has broken down/waits for help, she reflects on her life.
The synopses are:
A woman on her way to a cemetery/church (“The War Widow” – Playing age 40+).
A woman on her way to a re-union (“The Haunting” – Playing age 20-30).
A girl on an illicit mission (“The Thief” – Playing age 18-20).
Applications are invited from all ethnic backgrounds, looks, sizes and sexual orientation and no previous performing experience is necessary, although – due to the nature of the project – applicants would be required to interact with a car (e.g., trying to start the engine, looking under the bonnet, etc.). However, applicants would not require a driving licence. The role would be a paid one (although the amount is unclear at present) and could lead to other opportunities.
