Hey,
I am hosting a 1920\'s Peaky Blinders next Thursday 25th October from 6.20-1.00am. I am looking to hire 3-4 actors to act out 3/4 short scenes throughout the night. As Peaky Blinders is set in Birmingham it would be great if the actors could put on a Brummie accent. I have some ideas below of what I am looking for:
At 7.30 pm when everyone has arrived have one of the actors present himself as the owner of the speakeasy bar and tell the guests that there will be a few house rules that they need to follow.
A 8.30pm a fight will break out between two male actors over a female actor. They start of arguing in a London accent but when the argument intensifies they switch to a Birmingham accent so guests suddenly realise they are actors.
Throughout the night there is a booth that will be hidden at the back of the venue and we would like the female actor to carry our fortune telling or tarot card reading for the guests.
At 10pm two male actors will enter the premises dressed as policemen and shout to the guests that they have discovered this speakeasy and everyone is being thrown out and arrested!
In total we would need the actors from 7-10.30pm and for the time they are not acting in between scenes they can mingle with the guests and help themselves to drinks/food. We want it to be a surprise so would be great if they could blend in with the crowd. We will also have a DJ but I will notify him what time to cut the music so everyone can here the actors.
In terms of costume we will need the actors to wear:
1920s outfit/Peaky Blinders style (flat cap, flapper dresses) x3
Policeman outfit x2
Fortune teller outfit x1
Thursday 25th October from 6.20-1.00am at Basement Sate, 8 Broadwick St, Soho, London W1F 8HN.
Thanks,
Mary
