Get Yourself Free is a drama set in Manchester, it is about a woman in her late 30s named Claire on the day of her mother\\\'s funeral. Her boyfriend Matt tries to convince her to go to the funeral while she is struggling with mental issues relating to her relationship with her mother.



This project has been in development since August 2017 and it is being made as my final project at Manchester Metropolitan University.



For the role of Claire, the main requirement is to have a greater understanding of what it is like to lose someone who was close to you, but you didn\\\'t have the best relationship with. This is required in order to fully brings Claire\\\'s feelings about her mother to life. The main requirement for the role of Matt is to have a caring attitude towards Claire, but to also act like a loving, cheeky friend to Claire. He plays a supporting role in Get Yourself Free and is there to help Claire and it\\\'s your job as well as mine to make Matt grow as a character throughout the short film.



The main themes of the film are grief, broken relationships and mental health issues.
