We are currently casting for the roles of Jenny, The Priest and Matthew
Jenny - Late twenties/early thirties, Scottish, playful nature, fiery temper.
Matthew - Early thirties, Scottish, calm, reflective, rational.
The Priest - Jenny - late twenties/early thirties, Scottish, young, inexperienced.

Rehearsals will begin week commencing Monday 13th April – Friday 24th April, with the tech/dress on Sunday 26th April. Rehearsals will not be held on Saturdays and we will endeavor to be flexible to other commitments. This is a brilliant opportunity to join an emerging theatre company in its debut production of a highly acclaimed play.
BlueSketch will guarantee a fee of £200 per actor.

Synopsis: Set in the outskirts of Glasgow, By Virtue Fall examines the tenuous moral dilemmas faced when Matthew, a devout Catholic, confesses his sexual attraction to children. Having just discovered his wife is pregnant, Matthew confides in his young, inexperienced Priest. The scenes shift between Matthew and the Priest in confession, and Matthew and Jenny in their house. Jenny, previously thought to be infertile reveals to Matthew that she had been pregnant before, but that she had an abortion. She mistakes Matthew's reservations in having their child for disgust at her impure deed, rather than the real fear; of him being in close proximity to a child - something he has spent his entire life avoiding. Having committed no crime, Matthew is trapped by his faith and ultimately something has to give. This is not a religious play, nor a play about pedophilia, but leads us to re-evaluate our own moral compass directing to what is intrinsically right and wrong, as the characters deal with the fallout from Matthew's revelation.
