I’m currently looking for some talented people to star in a low-budget, high-concept short film.
Very loosely inspired by the events recounted in social psychologist Leon Festinger’s seminal book When Prophecy Fails, the plot centres around the moments directly before and after a cult’s doomsday prophecy fails to materialise.
It’s a sensual, abyss-black comedy pitched in the filmmaking style of David Cronenberg/Peter Greenaway/Werner Herzog (but of course, this will be better than all three put together.obviously).
The roles I’m looking to fill are as follows:

MILLICENT - F. 30-50. The group’s leader. Enigmatic, charismatic, possessed with purpose.

PETER - M. 25-35. Slacker. No real direction in life, has probably been living off compensation money / inheritance for the past ten years.

Shooting will take place on the weekend of the 30th June and 1st July (approx. 9am-6pm each day) within a single location in the Greater Manchester area.
Unfortunately, we won’t be able to offer payment - but travel expenses, food, drink and of course, end-of-the-day beers will most certainly be provided.
