Neil, 71, is Peter’s dad, who, ever since his wife’s death, has been hiding in his shell and only expressing himself through gardening. Neil is a vegan but despite his lifestyle and looking like a hippie, he is usually grumpy towards everyone. Neil uses his neighbour, Ariana, as a free helper in his garden and even though he doesn't it, he enjoys the rare admiration and respect he receives from her.Neil feels like his son has abandoned him because of the way Peter looks down on Neil’s lifestyle.
