I am currently preparing a performance piece in September. The central element of the project will be a 20 minutes sound recording, retracing the death of a London property salesman, which I am looking for a candidate for this position.
The sound recording will be a monologue and the actor will act as a property salesman. The narrative will be divided into two parts. Firstly, he will describe renting, selling and letting properties in detail and the London housing market in general. Secondly, he will then narrate stories of near death experiences, immortal soul and notions of re-incarnation.
There is no actual screenplay and some parts of the play will be improvisational.
The job will be £200 pay and will include 3 rehearsals during August in Highbury&Islington, London
For the role, I am looking for
1. age between 25-35, male, based in London

“The project, Eric Wang, follows the death of a Chinese immigrant, Eric Wang (1980-2012), who, in 1992, migrated to London and became a property salesman in the borough of Lambeth. In the late afternoon of the 23rd of March of 2012, Wang was riding his bike nearby Bow roundabout, when a tourist bus collided with him. Wang was pronounced death at the scene of the accident.
Boarding on the same tourist bus that took Wang’s life, the project will invite the audience to re-trace his last day. In doing so, the bus will head to the middle of nowhere and stop in several random spots, where one passenger, chosen arbitrarily, will be asked to leave the bus, starting then his/her own adventure.
Inspired by ideas surrounding death, immortal soul and Chinese notions of ghosts and reincarnation, the present project is an exploration into the relationship between spiritual displacement and modern capital. Consequently, Eric Wang interrogates how individuals are entangled in capital and how they are implicated in London’s booming property market.”
