"My Parents, The Zombies"
This is the tragic story of childhood innocence and the fantasy children create when they're not ready to understand or comprehend the harsh reality of adult life.
This film is a drama, with elements of comedy and horror.
Set over his summer holidays, Charlie is terrified of his literal, bright green, zombie parents. But with a bit of courage and understanding, he grows to love and care for them. Upon his return to school, his teacher grows concerned as Charlie spends the day boasting about his cool zombie parents; she decides to accompany him home only to find all is not what it seems!
We are third year University of the Arts London students and this film is part of our graduation work.
The role of the parents will involve extensive makeup to portray the zombie image.
There are themes of drug addiction/heroin use.
Zombie Mum:
This role is primarily as a zombie, however, at the climax of the film it is revealed there is a heroin addiction. Therefore, the actor will have two looks. Although zombified, Charlie's parents do not hurt him, they go about with their own zombie business which leads to neglect. This role will involve working with a child actor.
Zombie Dad:
This role is primarily as a zombie, however, at the climax of the film it is revealed there is a heroin addiction. Therefore, the actor will have two looks. Although zombified, Charlie's parents do not hurt him, they go about with their own zombie business which leads to neglect. This role will involve working with a child actor.
Mrs Jones - Teacher:
The teacher who sees Charlie's depravity, even though he seems content with the way things are. Mrs Jones becomes concerned with the state that Charlie arrives to school in and his parents absence at home time. This role involves working with a child actor.
