Job Specifics:
Details:
20-25 Supporting artists required for a short film in London (CATFORD) on 15TH MAY.
THE FILM: The Master of York - A Medieval Jewish scholar conjures a Golem to satisfy his wife's sexual needs, and pays the price. A sex comedy/morality tale set among a 12th century Jewish community in the city of York.
Rabba Menachem is an obsessive and dedicated Master of the Jewish Lew, whose life of scholarly contemplation is wrecked when his brother dies. Menachem is obliged by the law to marry Chana, his brother's attractive widow. He is also obliged by the law to meet her sexual needs - a task that plays havoc with his studies.
BRIEF FOR SUPPORTING ARTISTS: We require 20-25 supporting artists to be present in a Synagogue for the final scenes of a short film 'The Master of York'. These are non-speaking roles; you will be part of a congregation watching/listening to two rabba's debate to their Jewish Community. Our main character 'Menachem' becomes withdrawn from his community, and we need the look on the congregation's faces to reflect this. We are open to a variety of ages - so please apply if you're interested.
MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT: A Short film written and directed by Kieron Quirke (writer of BBC Cuckoo, Trinity). This project is in conjunction with the National Film and Television School, with most of the crew currently studying or have recently graduated.
The location is close to CATFORD TRAIN STATION so will be accessible by public transport. We will provide food on the day.
