About Me
mce was fast and I found it hard to keep up and also we had to do it in pairs and I was paired with a second year. I felt a little more confident when it came to showing it. My second experience in a west end dance workshop was great because I love the Aladdin dance and how it looks when Ivan was teaching it to us. These workshops were a little taste into the industry which was brilliant.
I have also taken up opportunities to study with an upcoming theatre company called Theatre for life. I did a workshop with Ameer choudrie. He is an acting coach who has been in the industry working as a west end performer. I was delighted to do this workshop because I got more confident showing different characters and developing getting out of my comfort zone. Another workshop was to gain an understanding of what redirection is and how to show you can be redirected. The second workshop I did was a musical theatre. I was amazed when I did this because I got advice to not give up and act as if I am confident even if I do not feel it! I also did my song and I got asked to sing another because they saw my true potential with singing. I started of singing ‘Notice me Horton’ and then I ended up singing ‘with you’ from ghost the musical. I felt the second song I sung went a lot better because I was more into the character and also I showed the emotional side of the song. The last recent workshop was in the October half term and it was three days and the third day was a mock audition with a cast director, west end actor, Stephen king, Poppy Andres and an acting teacher. This workshop was brilliant because it helped me gain confidence and also how an audition would work. When it came to the mock audition the casting director said I am a kitchen sink performer meaning that I show the truth when I act. I love this because he saw potential in me as an actor.
I have had a lot of experience with musical theatre and I am passionate at what I do. I love to show what I can do and how far I have come. I started at studying with the mayflower youth theatre and I was really lucky to perform on the mayflower stage with Earl Carpenter. The mayflower youth theatre is a musical theatre group that offers young people lots of opportunities to develop their creative talent and skills. I started mayflower in 2016 and its help me increase my confidence. I have grown as a performer and also I have had chances, for example, performed a musical written by Jaqueline Ockwell. I would love to further my education and knowledge. I want to further my education and gain the tools to be a successful actress.
