About Me

I studied literature at university and I have had lots of experience acting in small plays, and performing on the radio and as a musician. I have also been the main character in a scene for a City Bank advert directed by Dave Meyers. I have also been an extra in Da Vinci's Demons. Though I have not studied acting since college, I am not one to freeze up at all and find myself able to do it quite naturally. Possibly this is because I have made short films myself and I understand what is going on the other side of the camera, and what is needed of an actor. I believe that it is important for an actor to offer is own interpretation of a character, and not to simply act out what is in front of them on the script. The character needs to be a true reflection of some part of yourself. I think I find it easy to do because there are lots of different aspects of my personality that I am able to relate to a vast number of characters. I also find the whole process of acting, enjoyable as it can often be cathartic. I also believe that having a literature degree will help me get under the writers ideas in a deeper way than most, as I am able to understand the nuanced plot ideas, how a scene works, and character development.
Even though I studied literature, I have been going to acting schools since I was a kid, such as Stage Coach in Swansea, and I have always considered acting as one of my life goals. Hopefully you would give me the opportunity to see what i can offer you.
